This class will be held on the lower floor of Lyman Hall, next to the EMT headquarters. If you are entering Lyman from the front, you will go up the steps to the main floor. To get to our classroom, cross the lobby and go down one flight of stairs. We are in the center, right as you arrive to the lower floor.

This class will be going outside no mater what the weather is. You will be kneeling and laying on the ground, so dress appropriately.

Public Transit

Syracuse Univeristy has a handy campus shuttle as well as a free Connective Corridor bus that links campus with downtown Syracuse.

On the weekends, parking is free on campus. The Syracuse website has directions for visitors planning to plan on campus, as well as parking lot directions.

There are several cafes and food courts on the Syracuse campus, also with many options located just off campus. We recommend that you bring snacks, drinks, and lunch with you to class, but if needed you will have time to buy food during our 1 hour lunch break.

Information about hotels can be found here. There are also local AirBnB options.

Please come prepared for class ready to spend time outside. You will be laying and kneeling on the ground throughout the weekend. Many students bring a small foam pad or crazy creek chair. Bring several layers of clothing, including warm layers, rain layers, gloves and hat. Bring a pen and small notebook. Even if it is raining or snowing, we will still spend 50% of our time outside.

WFR Re-certification

Wilderness First Aid is an introductory level class, designed for the beginner. However, if you are a NOLS WFR and need to re-certify your Wilderness First Responder, you can take this class in a pinch. It will not work to re-certify any other company's WFR, however. You will need to take a NOLS WFR Recert course if you have a SOLO, WMA, or Aerie WFR.
