Prepare for your Expedition course
What should I expect from my WRT expedition?
Natural beauty, friends, fun, and physical challenge. Our expeditions travel to remote and breathtaking places to provide the sort true wilderness experience you can't get in your own backyard. You bring the motivation, and we provide the rest, from group gear to gourmet rations and professional skills instruction.
How physically prepared do I have to be?
On our trips you can expect 30-50lb packs, uphill treks, and inclement weather. Mother Nature doesn't give up her secrets easily! Regular physical activity (hiking, biking, gym sessions) in the months leading up to your trip will help set you up for success. All participants must fill out a health form in advance, and final enrollment is subject to a health review.
Does WRT offer custom courses?
You bet. Have a goal in mind, but want someone else to take care of the research, route planning, and logistics? E-mail to inquire.
What will i recieve prior to my course?
You’ll receive an email confirming your enrollment when you sign up, as well as a packing list. You’ll receive a final email about ten days prior to the course with additional logistical details.
Does my expedition result in a certification?
Yes! Graduates of all Wilderness Rescue Training Expeditions receive a Wilderness Trip Leader Certificate.
